This Urushi fountain pen is made with the Kara-nuri technique by which many different lacquers were applied using a spatula-like tool - the shikake-bera. Traces of this tool can be seen on the pen's surface and they become a unique charm and artistic trait of the pen itself. *Please do not mistake this with defects*
